May to October 2007 Events

To ensure that we do not all have events scheduled at the same time, here is a list (as of April 18, 2007) of the Na'amat Toronto events for May to October 2007.

- Saturday, May 5, 2007 @ 7:30 - Celebrating Spring" party in the Borochov Cultural Centre with Club Aliza. Sing along with Gabi Berlin (on screen), Dancing with Shoshi, Ballroom Dancing, Refreshments, Door prizes, And lots of fun. Cost is $20 per person
- May Council Meeting - Wednesday, May 9, 2007, 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 15, 2007at noon – Shavuot Luncheon for clubs that meet in the afternoon will be held at The Borochov Cultural Centre
- Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 8 PM – The Sharon Cole Memorial Lecture at Temple Sinai is sponsored by the Cole Family and Club Dayan featuring David Bezmozgis author of Natasha and Other Stories. Free. Temple Sinai is at 210 Wilson Avenue, North York
- Sunday, May 27, 2006 at 10 AM – Join Clubs Ilana, Masada and Tamar for Breakfast with Joy Fielding at The Borochov Cultural Centre. Cost is $36.00
- June Council Meeting - Wednesday, June 6, 2007, 8 p.m.
- Sunday, June 24, 2007 - Club Aviva and Beersheba – Craft Show at Edwards Gardens. This event is open to the community. Call 416-636-5425 for more information and to reserve your table.
- Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 – Joint Tribute and Growing up with Na’amat luncheon
- Wednesday, Oct 17, 2007 – Council Reunion and New Membership Evening
- Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007 - Clubs Aviva and Beersheba - Craft Show at Edwards Gardens
- Sock Hop – Sat. Nov 3, 2007 at Bialik Hebrew Day School ....the Band is "Go Freddie Go" – Clubs Dayan, Ilana and Tamar
- National Convention – July 2008 – the Convention is being held in Israel. More information will be coming. Note a Man’s Program is also being planned

February to May 2007 Events

As Passover approaches, Club Mali is busy baking their never to be forgotten Biscotti. They are almost sold out – but if you call the Na’amat office right now, you may be able to purchase one of the few remaining bags.
- Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2006, 8:00 PM – Let Club Tamar show you some new tricks to simplify Passover using Tupperware. This fundraiser, open to the community, is designed for anyone who celebrates the holiday – whether it’s your first time or you’ve been doing it for half a century. Location – 30 Capstan Gate (East of Keele, North of Steeles)
- Sunday, March 4, 2007 at 7 PM – Come out to Club Aliza’s Purim Ball. A full course meal with wine, prizes for the best costume and much more – all for only $75.00 per person. It will be held at the Magnolia Banquet Hall – 1520 Steeles Ave. West, Unit 121 (the North West corner of Steeles and Dufferin). Please reserve your table in advance by calling the Na’amat office
- Tuesday, March 6th.- Black Tie and Pearls - Na’amat Gala will be held at Le Parc The funds raised from this event will be put towards the renovation and refurbishment of the bedroom area of the Glickman Center in Tel Aviv. The event is being co-chaired by Laurel and Gary Wiseman and 2 non-Na’amat members, Mariel and Irwin Michael. Our special musical guest for the event is AMY SKY!! The evening will feature a live auction, a silent auction, and a special on-site fundraiser. We will also be showcasing a new video made especially to highlight the need for the renovation work at the shelter. Tickets are $180.00 per person and dietary laws will be observed.
- Next Council Meeting - Wednesday, March 14, 2007, 8 p.m.
- Sunday, March 18, 2007 – Club Rimon will be holding a Children’s Party Monday, March 19, 2007 from 7:30 to 10:00 PM – Club Aviva are holding a pre Passover schmoozing and wine tasting (from Simcha Wines). Tickets are $18.00 in advance or $25.00 at the door. Call the Na’amat office to reserve your place.
- Wednesday, March 21, 2007 – Na’amat Toronto Women’s Seder. We will be serving dinner and the cost will be $36.00. It will be jeld at The Borochov Cultural Centre
- Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 7:30 PM – Bingo Extravaganza Night at the Borochov with Club Simcha/Kadima. This event is open to the community. Call 416-636-5425 for more information and to reserve your place. Tickets are $20.00
- Sunday, March 25, 2007 matinee – Club Aliza is hosting a play at Leah Posluns - The God of Isaac by James Sherman. Tickets are $26.00
- April 29, 2007 – Club Ahava are holding a tea
- Sunday, May 27, 2006 – Join Clubs Ilana, Masada and Tamar for Breakfast with Joy Fielding at The Borochov Cultural Centre.
